There is an Amazon Germany workers strike taking place at two of Amazon‘s German warehouses. With just a week to go before Christmas, it’s raised concerns that gifts might not arrive in time. German news agency DPA has reported that workers in Leipzig (East Germany) and Werne (West Germany) went on strike on Monday morning.
Amazon has 10 warehouses in Germany, located in Bad Hersfeld, Leipzig, Werne, Rheinberg, Graben, Koblenz, Pforzheim, Brieselang, Dortmund and Winsen. From these locations, neighbouring countries including the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia are serviced too. It is unlikely that consumers will notice any difference in the logistic operations performance by Amazon, as most products are available in multiple German warehouses and will be fulfilled from an alternative location.
