When you take your business online and want to connect to your customers through social media you will be greeted by a host of different options. While it would be great to get exposure on all possible platforms this is not something easily done. Every platform serves its own demographic and this is something you will want to keep in mind when making the step to social media (marketing).

Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube or any of the other platforms that are available. On which platform should you start and what should you remember?

First you should know who your audience is. If you know exactly who buys your products and have a clear profile of your typical customer the next steps will be easier and you will know how to approach your audience.

\n

After you created a profile for your audience you should define a goal. What do you want to attain with your social media campaign? More page visits, more sales or do you want your audience to perform a specific action. For most business owners increasing sales will be the main goal, but there are other creative goals that could help your company tremendously.

\n

Finally step three is to find your audience. If you head to a platform that is not used by your target group your efforts are wasted. Discovering where your audience is active is vital to successfully start a social media campaign.
