The revenue rose to 110.2 million euro, partially because of higher commissions and new acquisitions in Bulgaria. Since the revenue in Germany increased by 45 percent this year, the German revenue grew more than the overall growth of the company. The loss is now 14 million euros, compared to 21 million last year. This means a decrease of 7 million euros in 2018 so far.

Takeaway processed 41.7 million orders in the first six months of 2018, which is about 30 percent higher compared to the same period in 2017.

Although some new competitors have emerged on the Dutch market in the past few months, they have not had much influence on the number of orders at Takeway. Possibly because, according to Takeaway restaurants, they generate an average revenue of 85,000 euros per year via the delivery platform.

There were 15 million orders in the Netherlands in the first half year, but Germany seems to be catching up in this respect. In terms of revenue, Germany still lags behind the Netherlands. Germany generates around 39.2 million euros in revenue per year, but given the growth rate of the company in Germany, that could soon change.

In total, Takeaway has 12.5 million customers in several European countries. To reach those customers, Takeaway's marketing costs have risen sharply to 65 million euros. The number of employees has also grown to over a thousand.
