Fashion platform Zalando will offer beauty products in five new markets, Sweden, Denmark, France, Belgium and Italy within the next two months. With this, it encourages shoppers to spend a little extra on accessories. The fashion platform first started selling women’s beauty products a year ago in Germany in a bid to counter a fall in average order size and boost profitability by encouraging customers to add a lipstick when they buy other apparel. Following the launch of beauty on Zalando across Germany, Austria and Poland last year, Swedish and Danish customers can now shop beauty products starting today. France and Belgium will follow in late March, Italy in mid-April.
In relation to adding new markets, Zalando also extended their collaboration with Esteé Lauder, and is adding eight prestige brands from the cosmetics brand to its German beauty range, with several of them on offer in the new markets too.
