            GOODBYE 2022, HELLO 2023

ust a few more days and 2022 will already have come to an end. This year
has brought us new opportunities and challenges. Unfortunately, we are
currently facing high inflation, and the impact of inflation on consumer
Jspending will likely last into 2023. Budgets are tight, and shoppers will still
be mindful of their purchases. Additionally, we can see that online giants such as
Amazon and Meta cut thousands of jobs this year. Cost reduction, after the post-
COVID years, seems a high priority.

So, after two-plus years of predominantly cross-border online shopping, we are left
to wonder what 2023 will bring us and what e-commerce trends online retailers
can expect. In 2023, we will see that consumers are ready for in-store experiences
again. With loosened COVID restrictions and the desire for in-person interactions,
brick-and-mortar stores are on the rebound!

However, online shopping will still remain an enormous part of our lives. Therefore,
retailers should keep investing in online experiences. It might be best to offer fluid
omnichannel shopping experiences for your customers. This
especially counts for brands who keep finding their way
            directly to consumers.

In this issue, Petrol Industries will tell you about how they COLOFON
managed to become a global reference in motor-centric
fashion. Their story is an enthralling tale of a clear business
vision, a deep understanding of the European market, and
an amazing passion for design and quality. Additionally, FOUNDER & PUBLISHER JEROEN LEENDERS

Finally, Chiara Boni La Petite Robe, an Italian brand, will

also take the spotlight in this issue and talk more about its
meteoric rise and the strategies that are driving it into a new
            age.
