Act and more. We believe this framework is generally fit for
purpose and that the rules should remain principle-based
and channel-neutral. The European Commission, however,
is looking at specific elements of consumer law, which they
suspect need to be revised. This includes dark patterns
and unfair practices, personalisation practices, contract
withdrawals, subscription services, influencer marketing, the
burden of proof and more. For any change the Commission
is considering, I would like to urge policymakers to take into
account the following three principles:
1. It is crucial to ensure all businesses, large and small,
can understand and implement the rules. Authorities
