Saint-Sixtus Abbey is no ordinary brewery. Monks produced its first official beer in 1839
after the Saint-Sixtus Abbey received a brewer’s licence signed by King Leopold I. That same
tradition continues to this day, with the monastery producing 6,000 hectolitres annually.
Along the way, the Abbey partnered with Ingenico, who supported its move online and
defended it against customers who dishonestly bulk bought and resold its beer for profit.

It’s quite a story. So, we sat down with Ingenico’s Regional Director Sales Northern Europe,
SMB Online Europe, Ray Bak, to discuss how Ingenico supported the Abbey as it strived to
            meld tradition with modern commerce.
