UK fintech company Kord has raised £6.4 million in Series A funding to expand its platform for customer onboarding, regulatory compliance and payment processing.

The round was led by Guinness Ventures, with participation from Beringea, SFC Capital and angel investors. The investment brings Kord’s total funding to approximately £9 million since the company's founding in 2020.

Kord plans to use the new capital to expand its team, accelerate product development and attract more customers across the property, legal and financial-services sectors.

The company is addressing a persistent problem in regulated industries: businesses often rely on several disconnected systems to verify customers, conduct anti-money-laundering checks, manage documents and process payments. Kord aims to bring those processes together within one platform.

What Kord does

Kord is a London-based fintech infrastructure company founded by CEO James Owusu. It operates as the business-to-business brand of Checkboard Limited.

Its platform is designed for regulated organizations such as estate agents, law firms, conveyancers, lenders and brokers.

Kord combines several services that companies would traditionally obtain from different providers, including:

Digital onboarding

Identity verification

Know-your-customer checks

Anti-money-laundering screening

Sanctions monitoring

Source-of-funds verification

Electronic signatures

Client-money accounts

Payment collection

Compliance reporting

The company’s main objective is to integrate customer identity, compliance information, and payment activity into a single workflow.

This can reduce duplicated administration and provide businesses with a clearer record of who the customer is, where the funds came from and how the transaction was processed.

Why Kord raised £6.4 million

Kord intends to use the Series A funding to strengthen its technology and expand across regulated industries. Many companies still use one provider for identity verification, another for compliance checks, a separate platform for documents and an external payment service.

This fragmented approach can create delays, increase costs and make oversight more difficult. Customers may also be required to submit the same information several times as they move between estate agents, mortgage providers, conveyancers and law firms.

Kord wants to replace this fragmented process with a more coordinated digital transaction system. Rather than offering only an identity-verification tool, the company is developing infrastructure that connects onboarding, compliance decisions and the movement of money.

Connecting compliance and payments

One of Kord’s central ideas is that customer identity and payment activity should not be handled separately. A business may verify a customer successfully during onboarding but use a different platform to receive or distribute funds.

When those systems are disconnected, it can be difficult to maintain a complete view of the transaction. Kord allows businesses to collect customer information, verify identity documents, complete compliance checks, review the source of funds, and manage payments within the same environment.

The company also provides digital wallets and client-money accounts for regulated organizations. This integrated model is intended to create a stronger audit trail and reduce manual work. It may also help businesses identify inconsistencies between the person completing the onboarding process and the individual or organization sending the money.

Responding to identity fraud

Fraud prevention is an important part of Kord’s proposition.

Generative AI has made it easier to produce manipulated documents, false images and convincing digital identities. Regulated companies therefore need to compare customer information against multiple data sources.

Kord says its API-based platform helps businesses verify identity information and detect suspicious discrepancies.

The company describes its payment infrastructure as a closed-loop environment in which identity, compliance data and payment activity remain connected.

This approach is designed to reduce risks such as impersonation, payment diversion and account substitution during high-value transactions.

For regulated businesses, the ability to connect a verified identity directly to the movement of money could become increasingly valuable as digital fraud becomes more sophisticated.

Property transactions are a key market

The property sector is one of Kord’s main target markets. Buying or selling a property involves several parties, including buyers, sellers, estate agents, lenders, solicitors and conveyancers.

Different organizations may need to complete their own identity, compliance and source-of-funds checks. This can lead to duplication and longer transaction times. Kord wants businesses to complete identity verification, anti-money-laundering screening, document collection and payments through a more coordinated system.

Reducing administrative friction could help transactions move more quickly and lower the risk of delays caused by missing or repeated documentation. However, Kord cannot remove every cause of failed property transactions. Financing problems, broken chains, survey findings and changing customer circumstances also play important roles.

Its value lies in simplifying the compliance and payment stages.

Supporting law firms and conveyancers

Law firms and conveyancers are another important market segment because they frequently handle large sums of client money. These businesses must verify customer identities, screen for sanctions, establish the source of funds and maintain records of the checks they complete.

Kord combines these compliance functions with payment processing and client-money accounts. The platform is designed to create a clear record of how funds were received, held and transferred.

This is important because compliance involves more than completing a check. A regulated company may need to demonstrate which documents were reviewed, when the review took place, which risks were identified and why a transaction was approved. Kord aims to centralize that information within an audit-ready record.

Investor interest in fintech infrastructure

Kord’s funding reflects wider investor interest in fintech companies that provide infrastructure to regulated industries.

Investment is increasingly moving beyond consumer banking applications toward business-to-business services such as:

Identity verification

Regulatory technology

Fraud prevention

Payment infrastructure

Client-money management

Transaction monitoring

These services are becoming more important as traditionally paper-based sectors adopt digital processes.

Property and legal services still rely heavily on emails, PDF documents, manual checks, bank transfers and disconnected software. Kord is betting that companies will increasingly prefer integrated platforms instead of purchasing multiple separate tools.

A modular platform

Kord describes its technology as modular, allowing customers to adopt individual services or combine several functions. A business could use Kord only for identity verification or source-of-funds checks while retaining its existing payment platform.

Another customer could use the full system for onboarding, compliance, client accounts and payments. This flexibility may help Kord serve industries with different requirements.

An estate agent may prioritize identity checks and source-of-funds verification, while a law firm may require detailed compliance records and client-money services. Kord also offers API-based integration, allowing its technology to connect with existing customer management, accounting, and case management systems.

What comes next for Kord?

Following the Series A round, Kord will focus on product development, recruitment and customer acquisition. Its main challenge will be proving that the platform can scale across different regulated industries while remaining simple to use.

Integration will also be critical. Law firms, financial-services companies and property businesses already depend on specialist software. Kord’s ability to connect with those systems could determine how quickly customers adopt its platform.

The company is expanding at a time when regulated businesses face two competing pressures. Customers expect faster and more convenient digital experiences, while regulators require stronger identity checks, fraud controls and record-keeping.

Kord is attempting to meet both demands by building compliance directly into the transaction process.

Building trust into digital transactions

Kord’s £6.4 million Series A is ultimately an investment in digital trust infrastructure.

The company is not trying to remove compliance from regulated transactions. It wants to make compliance more connected, efficient and easier to manage.

By bringing together identity verification, anti-money-laundering checks, source-of-funds analysis, client accounts and payments, Kord is addressing a structural weakness in many regulated industries.

Customer information and customer money are still frequently managed through separate systems.

The new funding gives Kord additional resources to expand its platform and strengthen its position across property, legal and financial services.

As digital fraud becomes more advanced and regulated industries continue to modernize, platforms that connect identity, compliance and payments could become an increasingly important part of Europe’s fintech market.

The Estonian logistics startup MyDello has raised €3.1 million in funding, marking another step forward in the digital transformation of freight forwarding in Europe. The investment highlights growing investor interest in platforms that simplify global shipping and improve supply chain transparency.

As cross-border trade continues to expand, companies like MyDello are gaining traction by addressing one of the biggest challenges in e-commerce and international business: efficient and reliable logistics management.

With this latest funding round, MyDello aims to strengthen its position as a leading digital freight forwarding platform and expand its presence across European markets.

What is MyDello, and how does it work?

MyDello is a digital freight forwarding platform designed to streamline international shipping operations. It enables businesses to manage shipments across multiple transport modes, including ocean, air, rail, and road, through a single interface.

The platform replaces traditional logistics processes—often dependent on emails, spreadsheets, and manual coordination—with a centralised, automated system. This allows companies to gain better control over their supply chains while reducing operational complexity.

By offering real-time access to pricing, routes, and shipment data, MyDello helps businesses make faster and more informed logistics decisions.

Key features driving MyDello’s growth

Real-time pricing and booking

One of the main advantages of MyDello is its ability to provide instant freight quotes. Users can compare different shipping options in real time, enabling quicker decision-making and cost optimisation.

End-to-end shipment visibility

The platform offers full transparency across the supply chain. Businesses can track shipments from origin to destination, reducing uncertainty and improving planning accuracy.

Centralised logistics management

MyDello consolidates all logistics operations into a single dashboard. This eliminates the need to coordinate with multiple freight forwarders and simplifies communication.

Data-driven optimisation

Advanced analytics tools allow companies to monitor performance, identify inefficiencies, and optimise their logistics strategies over time.

Why MyDello’s €3.1 million funding matters

The fact that MyDello has raised €3.1 million in funding is a strong signal of continued investor confidence in digital logistics solutions. Despite a more selective funding environment in Europe, platforms that address real operational pain points continue to attract capital.

This funding will likely support:

Product development and platform enhancements

Expansion into new European markets

Integration with additional logistics partners

Increased automation and scalability

For investors, MyDello represents a scalable solution in a fragmented industry that is ripe for disruption.

The role of MyDello in cross-border e-commerce

Cross-border e-commerce is growing rapidly, but logistics remains a critical bottleneck. Businesses must navigate complex shipping routes, customs regulations, and varying delivery expectations.

MyDello addresses these challenges by providing a unified logistics solution that simplifies international shipping. This is particularly valuable for small and medium-sized enterprises looking to expand globally without building complex logistics infrastructures.

By lowering barriers to entry, MyDello enables more companies to participate in global trade.

Digital freight forwarding: a growing market trend

The rise of MyDello reflects a broader shift toward digital freight forwarding platforms. Traditional logistics models are increasingly being replaced by technology-driven solutions that offer:

Greater transparency in pricing and operations

Faster booking and execution of shipments

Improved visibility across the supply chain

Enhanced efficiency through automation

As global trade volumes increase and supply chains become more complex, demand for these solutions is expected to grow.

Competitive landscape and positioning

MyDello operates in a competitive market that includes both traditional freight forwarders and digital-first platforms. However, its technology-driven approach gives it a strong advantage in terms of speed, usability, and scalability.

The company’s focus on real-time data and user experience positions it well to compete in an industry that is rapidly evolving toward digitalisation.

Future outlook for MyDello

With €3.1 million in fresh funding, MyDello is well-positioned to accelerate its growth and expand its capabilities. The company is likely to focus on enhancing automation, improving integrations, and entering new markets.

As the logistics sector continues to evolve, digital platforms like MyDello will play a key role in shaping the future of global trade.

The announcement that MyDello has raised €3.1 million in funding underscores the growing importance of digital solutions in logistics and cross-border commerce. By simplifying freight forwarding and improving supply chain visibility, MyDello is addressing critical challenges faced by modern businesses.

As investment continues to flow into logistics technology, MyDello stands out as a promising player in Europe’s growing digital freight ecosystem.

Manchester-based startup Voxelo has secured €346,000 (£300,000) in the first close of its pre-seed funding round, aiming to bring a faster and more accessible 3D and AI-powered product content studio to the e-commerce market.

The round is still open to additional strategic investors. It will support the company’s efforts to scale its technology for retailers and brands seeking richer product visualisation and immersive online shopping experiences.

As e-commerce becomes increasingly visual and interactive, Voxelo is positioning itself at the intersection of AI-generated content, 3D modelling, and digital product experiences.

Voxelo’s Mission: Making 3D Product Content Accessible

Founded in Manchester, Voxelo is developing a 3D and AI product content studio designed specifically for e-commerce teams. The platform enables companies to transform simple product videos into interactive digital assets, such as:

photorealistic 3D product models

augmented reality (AR) visualisations

e-commerce product images

AI-generated lifestyle scenes

The process begins with a short video of the product, which the system converts into a 3D digital twin that can be reused across multiple digital channels.

According to Voxelo CEO and co-founder Vladimir Mulhem, improving product presentation directly influences online sales. Better product content builds buyer confidence, and buyer confidence drives conversion in e-commerce.

By simplifying 3D creation, Voxelo aims to make immersive product content accessible not only to large retailers but also to smaller online merchants.

How Voxelo’s Technology Works

Voxelo’s platform is built around a workflow that converts video footage into reusable digital assets.

Instead of requiring specialized equipment or professional 3D modelling skills, the platform uses computer vision and AI to generate a digital replica of a product.

Core technology workflow

Step

Process

Result

Product capture

Record a short product video

Raw visual data

AI processing

Computer vision reconstructs the object

Photorealistic 3D digital twin

Asset generation

Model converted into multiple formats

3D viewer, AR, product images

Deployment

Content integrated into online stores

Interactive shopping experience

The resulting digital assets allow shoppers to view products from any angle or even place them virtually in their environment, enhancing the online shopping experience.

Founding Team and Industry Support

Voxelo was founded by:

Founder

Role

Vladimir Mulhem

CEO

Ben McKay

COO

Roman Bromidge

CTO

The startup has also attracted support from experienced industry leaders. One of its key backers is Andy Gray, a former director at eBay and co-founder of the NFT marketplace KnownOrigin, who joined as an advisor and investor to help guide the company’s growth.

This industry expertise is expected to help Voxelo navigate the fast-evolving digital commerce ecosystem.

The Problem Voxelo Is Trying to Solve

Creating high-quality 3D product content is traditionally expensive and technically complex. Many retailers face several barriers when attempting to adopt immersive product visualisation.

Key challenges in 3D e-commerce content

Challenge

Description

Impact on retailers

High production cost

Traditional 3D modelling requires specialised studios

Limits adoption to large brands

Technical complexity

Requires expertise in modelling, rendering and optimisation

Slows content production

Time-consuming workflows

Creating a single 3D asset can take days or weeks

Difficult to scale product catalogs

Hardware requirements

Special cameras and scanning tools often needed

Increases operational costs

Voxelo’s technology attempts to solve these issues by allowing retailers to generate professional 3D assets from simple product videos captured with standard equipment.

The Rise of 3D and AR in E-commerce

The demand for immersive product experiences is increasing rapidly as online retailers compete to replicate the confidence of in-store shopping.

Interactive product visualisation helps customers better understand size, texture, and design, reducing uncertainty before purchasing.

Benefits of 3D product content

Benefit

Impact on e-commerce

Improved product understanding

Customers can inspect products from every angle

Higher conversion rates

Greater confidence increases likelihood of purchase

Reduced return rates

Buyers better understand what they are ordering

Enhanced brand experience

Immersive content improves engagement

As a result, 3D content and augmented reality are becoming key tools for digital merchandising.

Voxelo’s UG3D Approach to Content Creation

One of the core innovations behind Voxelo is a workflow it calls User Generated 3D (UG3D).

This system allows businesses to create photorealistic 3D assets directly from user-generated video footage rather than specialized scans.

The company has designed this approach to remove traditional barriers to entry, enabling e-commerce teams without 3D expertise to produce immersive product content at scale.

By simplifying the production process, Voxelo aims to enable brands to generate digital assets faster and deploy them across multiple channels such as product pages, social media, and marketing campaigns.

A Growing Investment Trend in AI Commerce Content

Voxelo’s funding round reflects a broader investment trend in AI-powered content generation and immersive commerce technology.

Across Europe, investors are increasingly backing startups focused on:

AI-generated product content

3D commerce infrastructure

digital product twins

immersive shopping experiences

augmented reality retail tools

These technologies are expected to play a key role in the next evolution of online retail, where visual experiences become central to product discovery and purchasing decisions.

What Comes Next for Voxelo

Following the first close of its pre-seed round, Voxelo plans to continue expanding its platform and attracting additional strategic investors before the final close of the round.

The funding will support product development and go-to-market expansion as the company aims to bring its AI-driven content studio to more e-commerce teams.

If successful, Voxelo could help reshape how online retailers produce product visuals by turning a simple video into a fully interactive digital shopping experience.

As competition in e-commerce intensifies, tools that increase buyer confidence and improve product presentation may become a critical advantage for brands selling online.

Madrid-based startup Reveni has secured €7.5 million in Series A funding to accelerate its international expansion and further develop its e-commerce logistics platform. The investment round was led by 13books Capital with participation from JME Ventures, Big Sur Ventures, and Bynd Venture Capital, bringing the company’s total funding to approximately €17.3 million.

Founded in 2022, Reveni focuses on solving one of the biggest pain points in online retail: returns management. The company aims to transform post-purchase logistics into a strategic advantage rather than a cost burden for e-commerce brands.

Why returns management is a critical issue in e-commerce

Returns are a major operational challenge for online retailers. A significant share of online purchases is returned, creating logistical complexity, additional costs, and potential customer dissatisfaction.

Rising operational costs

Handling returns requires shipping, inspection, restocking, and customer service resources, all of which impact margins.

Customer experience risks

Slow refunds or complicated processes can damage brand loyalty and discourage repeat purchases.

Cross-border complexity

International sales add customs, taxes, and regulatory issues that further complicate returns.

These challenges have created a strong demand for solutions that streamline reverse logistics while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Reveni’s solution: instant refunds and integrated logistics

Reveni positions itself as a technology platform that centralises sales, returns, and logistics in a single system. The goal is to simplify both purchase and post-purchase processes for e-commerce businesses.

Instant refunds and exchanges

The company pioneered instant refund and exchange capabilities enabled by a proprietary risk model that approves requests in real time without exposing retailers to financial risk.

Unified dashboard for global commerce

Reveni integrates logistics orchestration, payments, and cross-border operations into a single platform, enabling brands to manage international sales more efficiently.

Automation of international logistics

Its platform, Reveni Atlas, automates duties, taxes, customs clearance, and shipment tracking, helping brands scale internationally while maintaining cost control.

Business impact for e-commerce brands

According to company data and investor commentary, Reveni’s platform can deliver measurable benefits.

Lower logistics costs

Some reports suggest companies can save around 25% in logistics costs and roughly 30% in international sales management expenses.

Increased customer loyalty

Instant refunds reduce friction and improve the post-purchase experience, supporting higher repurchase rates and customer retention.

Improved operational efficiency

Automation reduces manual processing, enabling retailers to focus on growth rather than administrative tasks.

How the funding will be used

The newly raised capital will primarily support expansion, product development, and team growth.

International expansion

Reveni plans to strengthen its presence in the UK and across Europe, targeting cross-border e-commerce growth.

Product development

Investment will accelerate technology innovation, particularly around logistics automation and fintech-enabled refund capabilities.

Team growth

Expanding the workforce is key to supporting scaling operations and product development.

The broader trend: funding shifts toward e-commerce infrastructure

Reveni’s funding reflects a broader European investment trend.

Focus on infrastructure rather than storefronts

Investors are increasingly backing logistics, payments, AI, and operational technology rather than direct retail plays.

Growth of cross-border commerce solutions

Global e-commerce expansion requires tools for taxes, customs, logistics, and returns management.

Post-purchase experience as a competitive advantage

Returns and refunds are becoming strategic differentiators rather than purely operational necessities.

Outlook for Reveni and the European e-commerce ecosystem

Reveni’s ambition is to become a global operating system for e-commerce logistics, helping brands manage sales, returns, and international expansion seamlessly. With fresh funding, strong investor backing, and growing demand for reverse logistics solutions, the company is positioned to play a significant role in the evolving European e-commerce technology landscape.

Swap Commerce has raised $ 100 million in a Series C funding round, just six months after closing a $ 40 million Series B. The round was co-led by DST Global and ICONIQ Capital, two investors known for backing category-defining technology companies.

The rapid follow-on investment underlines strong investor confidence in Swap Commerce’s vision to simplify and unify complex e-commerce operations through a single, integrated platform.

What Swap Commerce Does

An Operating System for Modern E-Commerce

Swap Commerce positions itself as an end-to-end commerce operating system designed for fast-growing brands and online retailers. Instead of stitching together multiple tools and service providers, merchants can manage critical commerce functions from one centralized platform.

The core capabilities include logistics orchestration, cross-border payments, returns management, and advanced analytics. By bringing these functions together, Swap Commerce aims to reduce operational friction, improve visibility across the order lifecycle, and enable brands to scale more efficiently across markets.

Focus on Cross-Border Commerce

A key differentiator for Swap Commerce is its emphasis on cross-border e-commerce. Managing international sales often requires navigating fragmented logistics networks, local payment methods, currency conversion, duties, and returns. Swap Commerce abstracts much of this complexity, allowing merchants to expand internationally without rebuilding their operational stack for each new market.

Strategic Importance of the Series C Round

Speed of Capital Deployment

Raising a Series C only six months after a Series B is a strong signal of accelerated growth and execution. This type of compressed funding timeline is typically associated with companies that are either scaling revenue rapidly, expanding into new geographies, or seeing exceptional enterprise demand.

For Swap Commerce, the additional capital provides the resources to scale infrastructure, deepen product capabilities, and support a growing customer base without slowing momentum.

Backing from Tier-One Investors

The involvement of DST Global and ICONIQ Capital adds strategic weight to the round. Both firms have extensive experience supporting companies through global expansion, late-stage scaling, and eventual public market readiness. Their participation suggests expectations that Swap Commerce could become a foundational platform in the global e-commerce ecosystem.

Expansion into North America and Beyond

Strengthening Presence in the US Market

A significant portion of the new funding is expected to support expansion into North America. The US remains one of the most competitive and mature e-commerce markets globally, with high expectations around delivery speed, returns experience, and payment flexibility.

Establishing a strong footprint in North America not only increases Swap Commerce’s addressable market but also positions the company to serve global brands that view the US as a strategic growth region.

Building a Global Commerce Infrastructure

Beyond North America, Swap Commerce is targeting broader international growth. As e-commerce brands increasingly think globally from day one, demand is rising for platforms that can handle multi-market operations without exponential complexity. Swap Commerce’s unified approach aligns well with this shift toward globally distributed digital commerce.

What This Means for the E-Commerce Landscape

Continued Investor Interest in Commerce Infrastructure

While consumer-facing e-commerce brands often attract headlines, this funding round highlights sustained investor appetite for infrastructure and enablement platforms. Tools that simplify logistics, payments, and data management are increasingly viewed as critical layers in the commerce technology stack.

Consolidation of Fragmented Commerce Tools

The success of Swap Commerce reflects a broader trend toward consolidation. Merchants are looking to replace collections of disconnected tools with integrated platforms that offer better data consistency, lower operational overhead, and faster decision-making.

As competition intensifies and margins tighten, operational efficiency is becoming as important as customer acquisition in determining long-term success.

Outlook for Swap Commerce

With fresh capital, high-profile investors, and a clear focus on solving some of the most persistent challenges in e-commerce operations, Swap Commerce is positioning itself as a key player in the next phase of global online retail. If the company executes successfully on its expansion plans, it could play a central role in shaping how brands manage and scale their digital commerce operations across borders.

TravelPerk, a Spanish business travel management platform, raised nearly 95 million euros in a recent funding round. The investment was led by Japanese giant Softbank Vision Fund 2, with Kinnevik and Felix Capital also participating.

This operation would be an extension of the one carried out by the company in 2022, where they raised $115 million (101 million euros) through a Series D financing round and managed to become a unicorn. The company's valuation at that time amounted to 1.3 billion dollars, very similar to the valuation achieved in this round, which has reached 1.4 billion dollars (1.28 billion euros).

"This latest investment comes when winning technology companies are separating themselves from the pack and further validates our investors' commitment to our vision and strategy," comments Avi Meir, CEO and co-founder of TravelPerk in the release.

In 2023, the company increased revenue by more than 70% year-on-year, although it does not specify the absolute revenue figure, according to La Vanguardia newspaper.

"Within the huge global business travel market, SMEs remain a largely underserved segment. TravelPerk continues to innovate, integrating AI across the product suite to deliver a world-class experience to customers and travelers. We are excited to partner with TravelPerk and support the next stage of growth," states Stephen Thorne, Chief Investment Officer of SoftBank Investment Advisers.

What perks does TravelPerk offer?

TravelPerk is a platform that helps companies manage their corporate travel needs. In the case of TravelPerk, you can also book accommodation and other services, as well as manage the expenses in one single hub.

In 2020, due to constant changes in travel regulations and health/safety guidelines as a result of the pandemic, TravelPerk acquired Albatross API, a software company that developed TravelSafe API providing real-time health and safety information to travelers. In the same year, the company also launched an online marketplace, where its customers can integrate partner products and services into their own platforms and workflows.

Shortly after being founded, TravelPerk received a $7 million series A round led by Spark Capital and In October 2018, the company raised a $21 million Series B round led by Target Global, Felix Capital, Spark Capital, Sunstone, and Amplo. In July 2019, the company finalized a two-part, $104 million series C funding backed by Kinnevik, Partners of DST Global, Target Global, Felix Capital, Sunstone, and LocalGlobe.

The application currently has over 5,000 workers in Mexico already using the platform to send and validate their tasks between managers and employees.

In addition, the three largest retail companies in Mexico, Petco, Farmacia San Pablo, and Office Depot, are already testing this application which is starting to increase the organization's profitability by more than 15%.

The goal of improving life for remote workers

With the money, the Dutch startup will accelerate its product innovation and double its team from 30 to 60 employees. In addition, Instant Commerce wants to expand further into Europe and enter the United States.
