Consumers on Amazon Spain seem to better find their way to Spanish online sellers on the platform. In 2019, 1,350 Spanish SME online marketplace sellers generated more than $500,000 in revenue. This is an increase of 30% compared to 2018.
Of these, 350 hit the $1 million mark in 2019. The total number of Spanish SME sellers on the Spanish Amazon platform is 8000. Of these, more than 6,000 Spanish SMEs exceeded the $100,000 mark in sales in Amazon Spain stores. Most products are sold to customers in mainland Europe. Total export revenue recorded more than 400 million euros (2018), an increase of 50% compared to the year prior.
Head of Amazon Marketplace in Spain, Ryan Frank, comments: "More than half of the items sold in Amazon stores are small and medium-sized businesses, so our success is deeply linked to their success. In many ways, our store is a large collection of small businesses, and we love collaborating with them to satisfy customers. With the investments we are making, we are giving small businesses in Spain powerful tools and technology to help them reach to hundreds of millions of customers and build successful brands."
A part of a $15 billion investment, Amazon has announced a new series of tools and services. Including tools are Target Inventory Levels, Inventory Performance Index, Inventory Performance Dashboard, Brand Analytics and Amazon Vine.
Worldwide, almost 225,000 SMEs exceeded the $100,00 in sales in 2019. Compared to 2018 this is 25,000 more.
