Regardless of the fact that there were supply problems during the pandemic, especially for trade from Asia - China tops the list as the most popular country for online purchases from abroad, followed by the UK and the US. 

In recent years, the number of e-commerce consumers has increased considerably, not least because of the pandemic and the changing circumstances and opportunities to shop online.  216 million consumers state they have made cross-border online purchases and the average sales per person per month amount to EUR 161. 

All in all, more people are choosing to make larger e-commerce purchases compared to before the pandemic and are buying a wider range of different product categories.
