Global online giant Amazon has released financial results for its second quarter of 2016. The company saw its tunrover grow by 31% compared to the previous year, reaching $30,4bn (€27,4bn). Profit rose from $92mn to $857mn. The re-birthed B2B unit Amazon Business, that replaced the Amazon Supply service in early 2015, managed to generate a $1bn turnover over that period.

Amazon looks a back on a number of important international steps, including the launch of Amazon Prime in India, an agreement with the UK government to test the use of delivery drones in the UK and the launch of a Pan-European Fulfillment Program, a service that helps sellers export their products to millions of Amazon customers across Europe. In addition, Amazon launched the AmazonFresh grocery delivery service in London and Boston.

For the third quarter, Amazon expects a net between $31.0 bn and $33.5 bn and a 22% to 32% growth compared with third quarter 2015.

Despite analysts and critics predicting sober times to loom for the US giant, Amazon has once again defied negative forecasts and showed its international supremacy.
