The Finnish Presidency of the EU Council announced the Council of the European Union will prepare an evaluation of the implementation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by the end of 2019.
The final version of the document will inform the European Commission’s review of EU privacy reform, which is expected by 25 May 2020. “The Presidency welcomes all observations from the delegations with respect to the review and evaluation of the General Data Protection Regulation. These observations may concern the issues specifically mentioned in Article 97(2), but there could also be other issues relating to the application of the GDPR the delegations deem relevant,” the announcement states.
In a recently released document, comments by the Member Staes can be found. These will be used as a preparation of the not setting out the Council positions and findings of the application of the GDPR.
