In Europe, four leading marketplaces launched a pan-European marketplace platform, reports Tamebay. The European marketplace alliance includes Cdiscount (France), real.de (Germany), eMAG (Romania) and ePrice (Italy).
It will create a unique online retail platform for the four vendors. The platform is the first fully integrated European marketplace of its kind. It will facilitate the exchange of merchants to promote more efficient cross-border purchasing of goods, which will benefit consumers.
The alliance can be seen as an effort to support cross-border merchants to sell internationally as they expand into European territories. With the launch of the pan-European marketplace platform, merchants are enabled to use a single point to sync their products. The move will see the International Marketplace Network (IMN) provide merchants with an interface to sell in real-time, granting sellers access to more than 230 million potential customers. Simply put, it becomes easier to list and sell products on these four marketplaces
The new concept aims to support sellers’ expansion efforts by allaying the pain-points of ‘conquering’ new territories as traders won’t have to list separately on each country-specific platform. With the launch of IMN, European consumers will have access to a wider range of products and services.
