Audio gear brand Bose will close all of its stores in Europe, North America, Australia and Japan. The brand decided to follow an online-only strategy after it noticed a significant change to online shopping in these regions, reports Ecommercenews.
It means a total of 119 brick-and-mortar stores will close in the coming months. In regions where shopping behaviour hasn't changed this drastic, like the United Arab Emirates and certain parts of Asia, stores remain open. This accounts for a total of +/-130 stores. Aside from its own stores and webshop, Bose products will still be available through retail stores like MediaMarkt in regions where stores will close.
“Originally, our retail stores gave people a way to experience, test, and talk to us about multi-component, CD and DVD-based home entertainment systems”, Colette Burke, Vice-President of Global Sales, says in a statement. “At the time, it was a radical idea, but we focused on what our customers needed, and where they needed it – and we’re doing the same thing now.”
