Convenience wins – most US online shoppers state that it is the time. The saving time aspect is what motivates them to do their shopping online. In addition, a wider product range is the reason which earns the second highest agreement among US online shoppers when asked about their reasons for online shopping. This is followed by higher comfort and better prices.
Furthermore, 67% of online shoppers agree that online shopping saves time. Meanwhile 66% enjoy wider product ranges. Higher comfort, better prices, and the fact that certain websites don’t have a brick-and-mortar equivalent also reach shares of more than 50% agreement among shoppers.
The least important reason for US online shoppers to choose e-commerce over brick-and-mortar shopping is the perception that physical stores are difficult to reach. Only 38% agree that this is a reason for them to shop online. “Stores are difficult to reach” is also the answer to which most US online shoppers explicitly disagree to – namely 32% of respondents.
