The service will be available for testing exclusively in the U.S. in English, for iPhone, and also for a selection of Twitter partners, at least in the first phase.
These partners will include: Verizon, Arden Cove, Latinx in Power, Gay Pride Apparel and All I Do Is Cook. Only those logging in from the U.S. with the English-language app and on an iPhone could see the deals.
They aim to make it the home for retailers on Twitter, where they can intentionally select a catalog of products for their Twitter audience and take advantage of the product discussions already taking place on the service. Thus providing shoppers with a point of action where a conversation can turn into a purchase.
As they continue testing, they will explore how to make Shops more recognizable; add new ways for merchants to tell their brand story through their stores; expand the number of products merchants can showcase, and bring Twitter Shops to more merchants and more people.
