The Inditex group, which is behind the Spanish fashion retailer Zara, launches the online Zara platform in the Colombian market, reports modaes. Currently, the fashion chain has about fifteen stores in the country.
In November 2018, Zara announced that it would launch its online shop worldwide. At that time, the online platform covered 106 markets. The stated goal was to reach 155 markets in a short period. Adding the Colombian online platform is one of the new markets that is launched this year.
"The digital transformation takes a strong boost in the integration of physical sales and online stores while strengthening sustainability as a key pillar of the company's strategy," says Pablo Isla, president of Inditex, recently.
Inditex closed the first half of the fiscal year 2019 on the rise. The Spanish fashion company recorded sales of 12,820 million euros between February and July. This is an increase of 7% compared to the first half of 2018. Net profit stood at 1,549 million euros, an increase of 10% compared to the first half of 2018.
