German supermarket Aldi launched its first online grocery service in the United Kingdom. The discounter offers consumers a box with 22 essential items to help those in isolation during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The special box contains items such as everyday foods and essential household items. Alongside, there are a few treats to help consumers in the United Kingdom to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The box is available for a retail price of 25 pounds (€28,77).

Consumable products in the box contain tinned soup, rice and pasta. Other usable products are antibacterial handwash and toilet paper. In line with current measures taken, the box will be delivered to the doorstep with full contactless delivery.

Aldi states that there is a consumption limit per buyer. A customer can order one food parcel box per week. "Our delivery promise is three to ten days. However, we will try to prioritise this order so you can get it as fast as possible," the supermarket explains.

This is the first time that Aldi sells groceries online in the United Kingdom.
