Cross-Border Magazine

Jeroen Leenders, Global Marketing and Sales Director of Salesupply, is the founder of the Cross-Border Magazine. We asked him 5 questions:

How did you come up with the idea to make a print magazine on cross-border e-commerce?
I am passionate about the topic of cross-border e-commerce and just as the retail sector itself, I think it is nice to be omnichannel. When I read interesting content I prefer to have it on paper and in my hands. Of course, I don't forget the online side of the story so that's why we also set up the Cross-Border Magazine website. I think the combination between offline and online makes our content even more interesting.

Why do you believe is there demand for this?
A lot of e-retailers would like to sell abroad, but struggle with important topics including  V.A.T., legals, logistics, customs, returns and many other cross-border challenges. I strongly believe that sharing knowledge and learning from each others mistakes and success stories can help every company that wants to sell abroad.

What have you learnt while producing the magazine?
That working with professionals is a must to be successful. If it's for successful cross-border selling or for making a magazine, you need people who know the way in the market and how to set up things immediately in a good way. You only get one change to present yourself in the best possible way, so my advice to everybody is go for the best and don't be affraid to invest.
What do you want to achieve with the Cross-Border Magazine?
My goal is to make companies perform better abroad and to help them grow. If we can achieve that companies sell more abroad by picking up some valuable information from this magazine,  then I am a very happy guy.
During the eTail Europe conference, you want to connect with people who tell you more about....?
Their passion in life. I am lucky to meet a lot of inspiring people during my work, people who are passionate and proud of their company and the products they sell. I like to surround myself with people who want to achieve something, because they give me energy to improve myself every day.
