FrankrijkThe French e-commerce federation Fevad revealed that, at the end of last year, there were 173.000 active retail websites in France. This is an increase of 10% in comparison to one year earlier when there were just 157.273 active merchant websites. The amount of e-commerce websites in France is calculated by data provided by nine platforms that form the PSP Panel: Be2bill by Dalenys, Ingenico Payment Services, Monetico Paiement, Monext, Paypal, PayZen, Verifone and Worldline.

There were 37.4 million French online shoppers who have been shopping on these sites, according to Médiamétrie. This is about 85,5% of the internet-users, during the first quarter of this year. The majority of them, 54%, shopped online at least once a month. A little over a quarter, 28%, shopped at least twice a month.
