Amazon Prime Day 2023, one of the most anticipated annual events for all users who shop on the marketplace, is about to begin. Announced at the end of June, Amazon Prime Day will be held this July 11 and 12.
According to research by Adobe Digital Economy Index, accessed by the Internet Retailing media, Prime Day will leave a total sales volume of about 1.2 billion pounds (about 1.4 billion euros) in the United Kingdom, which would represent a growth of 92%. As the data show, in the 2021 and 2022 financial years, sales during Prime Day reached £1.1 billion (about €1.288 billion), representing an increase of 77% and 87%, respectively.
"As inflation continues to put pressure on consumer spending, big discount events like Prime Day are increasingly seen as an opportunity for additional value," said Vivek Pandya, principal analyst at Adobe Digital Insights, who expects this 2023 to be "a record year for Prime Day sales."
There will be 48 hours ahead where Prime customers around the world can get great discounts on a wide selection of products from top brands such as Samsung, Cecotec, Xiaomi, Dodot, Garmin, Sony, Lenovo, Vans, Philips, and many more, starting Tuesday, July 11 at 00:00 hours and ending Wednesday, July 12 at 23:59 hours.
Amazon will also launch new deals every 30 minutes during selected periods throughout the event. This year's Prime Day will also feature more deals than last year from retail partners that sell on Amazon, primarily small and medium-sized businesses such as Olistic Science, Flamingueo, Pisamonas, Freshly Cosmetics, and Singularu.
However, Prime customers should note that Amazon is also going to put different products on sale with discounts that may vary both in percentage and time. Regarding the latter, it seems that there will be two basic types of offers:
Deals: those that will have a duration of 24 to 48 hours and that Amazon usually applies to the company's private brands.
Flash: discounts that will have a maximum duration of 6 to 12 hours that are usually made on products with limited stock.
Prime Day sales will take place simultaneously in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States, and the United Kingdom.
