Zalando Lounge, Zalando’s dedicated shopping club, has started its partnership with the logistics service provider, Fiege e-Com North. They are in charge of the operation of the Zalando Lounge fulfilment center in Olsztynek, Poland. The high employment potential, convenient geographical location and infrastructure are the primary decision criteria to choose Olsztynek as the fulfilment location in Poland. The fulfilment operations that Fiege will run start in March 2019.
Until now, Zalando Lounge only used their fulfilment centre in Großbeeren, Germany. This partnership means the dedicated shopping club will work with its first international fulfilment centre as well. The fulfilment partner works with high automatisation standards, by using item sorters that sort single articles to the respective order. An outbound sorter will be used to direct orders to the right delivery destination.
Martin Rost, Senior Vice President Offprice (Zalando Lounge and Outlets), says: “Thanks to this new fulfilment centre, we can strengthen our services across Europe and gain more flexibility to scale our business. The size and setup at Fiege allow us to expand our offer with additional brands and articles, such as home textiles. We look forward to the collaboration with Fiege to operate the site and establish a strong team.” CEO of Fiege e-Com North, Piotr Kohmann, adds: “We are collaborating with a Polish fulfilment centre in Gardno with Zalando and we are very pleased that Fiege will partner with Zalando Lounge. Our work supports Zalando Lounge to further focus on the customer offering. It helps to extend its competitive market advantage. We are confident that our team in Poland will deliver the quality service its customers are expecting.”
