Salesforce announced an 8% revenue increase for the second quarter of fiscal 2025, ending July 31, 2024. Revenues for the second quarter totaled $9330 million, an increase of 8 % year over year. In addition, subscription and support revenues of $8.76 billion were up 9 % year over year and 10 % in constant currency.
The U.S. company's profits showed a 12% increase between May and July 2024, closing the period at $1.429 billion.
“In the second quarter, we delivered a solid performance in revenue, cash flow, margin and cRPO, and increased our non-GAAP operating margin and cash flow growth forecast for the fiscal year,” said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of Salesforce. "With our new Agentforce AI platform, we are reinventing enterprise software for a new world where humans with autonomous agents drive customer success together.
Salesforce is the only company with the leading applications, trusted data, and agent-centric platform to deliver this vision at scale and help businesses leverage AI's incredible benefits."
“We continue to deliver profitable and disciplined growth and, this quarter, operating margins closed at record highs, with GAAP operating margin of 19.1 percent, up 190 basis points year-over-year, and non-GAAP operating margin of 33.7 percent, up 210 basis points year-over-year,” said Amy Weaver, president and chief financial officer of Salesforce. “Our return of capital program remains a priority, and we now expect to more than offset our fiscal 2025 stock-based compensation dilution.”
Revenue guidance for the third quarter of fiscal 2025 is $9.31 billion, an increase of 7% compared to last year. Revenue guidance for FY2025 remains between $37.7 billion and $38 billion, an increase of 8% and 9%, respectively. The growth guidance for Subscription and Support revenue for FY2025 is also kept slightly below 10%.
Salesforce is not the only one showing a healthy increase in revenues. It seems the entire e-commerce industry is currently ‘on the green numbers’ with positive results all over the globe. For example, Shopify Inc.'s revenue and gross merchandise volume (GMV) both increased more than 20% in its first quarter of fiscal 2024, which ended March 31.
And Magento also reported via their quarterly data a 5.5% growth in Q1 2024 and a 27% year-over-year increase; in fact as of early 2024, the platform had over 144k live stores.
