According to the Cetelem Observatory, 21% of Spaniards plan to spend more during their online shopping at Easter this year than the year before.

The average spending forecast by Spaniards for Easter in 2023 stands at €429, 8% more than in 2022, when it was €399. By amount, the highest percentage is that of those who will spend more than €300 on their vacations, with 36% of mentions, and those who will spend between €101 and €300 (31%).

This year's percentage is four percentage points lower than last year when 25% of Spaniards surveyed intended to increase spending. Whereas this year, 48% say they will spend the same as in the same period last year, up only 1% on the previous year.

Finally, 31% of those surveyed say they will spend less. Of this group, 9 out of 10 said they had a lower spending intention this Easter due to inflation.

The main activities during Easter will be relaxing and friends

The main activities on which Spaniards plan to spend the most during the Easter vacations are relaxing and meeting friends (43%, compared to 42% in 2022) and traveling (42%, compared to 38% last year).

Both activities show an increase compared to last year, with a growth of one and four points, respectively, and are the only ones that have grown compared to the other categories.

These are followed by leisure options such as going out to restaurants (39%, down seven points from the previous year), seeing processions (23%, down two points), shopping (21%, down six points), cultural visits (19%, down two points), sports activities (18%, down six points), cinema, theater, and concerts (17%, down four points), activities with children (12%, down three points) and going to spas (6%, down one point).

By amount bracket, the highest percentage is that of those who will spend more than 300 euros on their vacations, with 36% of mentions, and those who will pay between 101 and 300 euros (31%).
