TikTok Shop has launched a new logistics feature to optimize and streamline shipments and the platform emailed sellers to say they can try this package collection service for free until next April.

Specifically, concerning delivery and collection options, the platform explains that sellers have two alternatives for managing their shipments: delivery points, where they can take packages to post offices, and warehouse collection, where a carrier will pick up orders directly from the seller's warehouse.

In the latter case, the platform has assured that the account will initially be assigned to GLS. However, “TikTok reserves the right to assign another carrier according to its internal rules”.

To activate this new feature, sellers must go to the 'Seller Center' and set their preference in the 'Pickup Method Settings' section.

TikTok free package collection service ‘costs’

In this context, the platform has emphasized that “sellers who opt for warehouse collection must guarantee a minimum of five packages per collection.” If this threshold is not reached, a charge of €1.90 per package (excluding VAT) will be applied, and starting in May, it will be invoiced at the end of the month. This fee will cover the logistical costs of low-volume collections.

Once the seller updates their settings on the platform, their account will be assigned to GLS and the shipping labels will be automatically modified to reflect this change. At this point, TikTok Shop has explained that “packages with Correos labels still pending must be delivered to the corresponding offices, without this update affecting said shipments.”

As for shipping costs, TikTok Shop has assured that the rates for sellers will remain unchanged, as long as the minimum threshold of packages per collection is met. In addition, delivery times will stay at 2 to 3 working days, so there will be no delays in the distribution of orders.

TikTok Shop Conditions

On the other hand, sellers who opt for warehouse pickup cannot leave their packages at a GLS pickup point, as their account will be configured explicitly for this method. Likewise, buyers cannot choose the carrier, as this is assigned directly by TikTok Shop to each seller.

As a general rule, the platform has indicated that for labels generated before 1:00 p.m., “pick-ups will be automatically scheduled for the same day between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. This could be adjusted depending on the location of the warehouse.”

At the time of collection, sellers can hand over all packages ready, regardless of when they were processed. TikTok Shop has reminded sellers to contact the support team via a ticket in the Seller Center for any questions or assistance.
