A new business opportunity has been announced by Amazon for its employees if they have enough savings to start their own company. They are offered 10,000 dollars and an amount that is equivalent to three months salary if they quit and start to run a fleet of delivery trucks.
This way, they will work for the e-commerce company through its ‘Delivery Service Partner’ -program. According to Amazon, the business owners can expect potential annual profits up to 300,000 dollars.
The marketplace says that the new business owners will receive a consistent delivery volume and hands-on training. They will have access to the company’s delivery technologies and receive discounts on services and assets.
According to Dave Clark, Senior VP of Worldwide Operations, thousands of individuals (including many employees) have already shown interest by applying for the program. Apparently, many associates willing to join the program could not afford the transition. This new incentive creates a path for those employees.
The offer is available to many Amazon employees, full-time as well as part-time. It arrives at the same time in which Amazon wants to start one-day shipping Prime deliveries.
With its Delivery Service Partner program, any entrepreneur is able to start a business.
The company says that with an amount of 10,000 dollars, it is already possible to lease vans and hire drivers in order to deliver packages for Amazon.
It is not the first time that the marketplace platform decides to pay its employees to quit. The company offers its full-time employees 5,000 dollars every year if they want to leave the company. After accepting this offer, it is not possible to ever work at Amazon again.
