  • The 9th edition of E-commerce Berlin Expo wrapped up on February 20th, 2025. For the first time in the event's history, it spanned two days, resulting in a record-breaking attendance of 12,000 participants. This included nearly 300 service providers from the DACH region and beyond, as well as over 150 speakers who delivered insightful presentations.
  • The event was inaugurated by Franziska Giffey, Berlin’s State Senator for Economy, Energy, and Enterprise, who announced that the next edition will take place at a prestigious new location in Berlin.

February 21, 2025 Since 2016, E-commerce Berlin Expo has been a key event for the e-commerce industry in Germany. This year marked its first-ever two-day format, a change that will continue in future editions. The expanded schedule led to a significant increase in attendance, with over 12,000 visitors compared to around 10,000 in previous years.

The event also caught the attention of the city of Berlin. Franziska Giffey officially opened the expo, announcing that the 2026 edition will move to Messe Berlin, one of the world's top ten trade fair companies with its own exhibition grounds.

This year, for the first time, we expanded our Expo to two full days, doubling everything—from content to logistics. I couldn’t be prouder of what our team has accomplished” said Mark Tomaszewski, MD of E-commerce Berlin Expo. “However, there’s little time to rest, as we are already looking ahead to our milestone 10th edition, which will take place at Messe Berlin, as announced by Mrs. Giffey which we were especially honored to guest at our Expo. This is a bittersweet moment for us—while we are incredibly grateful to STATION for providing the foundation to grow to this level, we are also excited about the new opportunities that lie ahead in our new venue.

Industry giants at the expo

This year, more than 150 speakers took the stage, including representatives from industry giants such as Microsoft, Google, TikTok, Deloitte, and Amazon. Renowned brands like REWE, Zalando, MediaMarktSaturn, OTTO, Fielmann, flaconi, Philips, Deutsche Telekom, and IKEA were also present. Emerging brands gaining momentum, such as Snocks, Waterdrop, KoRo, ON, and Amorelie, had their spotlight as well. The main theme centered around differentiation and innovation in challenging times, with a focus on equipping attendees with insights, strategies, and tools to thrive in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

New focus areas

In addition to individual presentations and exclusive masterclasses, the expo featured dynamic panel discussions addressing the hottest topics in e-commerce. Highlights included a panel on diverse perspectives regarding AI in digital commerce, featuring experts from OTTO, Meta, and Glambou, as well as a session on how gaming and immersive tech are driving customer engagement and sales, with panelists from Arvato Systems, Beiersdorf, and Tabbler.

Shop-tech block also held a prominent place in this year's conference agenda, with experts from Adobe, Spryker, and Shopware sharing their insights in their individual presentations. For the first time, the agenda also included content focused on leadership and inspiration, providing attendees with actionable tools to lead with confidence and clarity.

Awards for the best e-commerce solutions

The E-commerce Germany Awards, a key part of the expo, celebrates the most innovative e-commerce solutions in the DACH region. The winners were announced during a gala held on the evening of the expo’s first day. This year’s competition was fierce, with hundreds of companies competing across 12 categories. Entries underwent an online voting process, followed by evaluation from a jury of e-commerce experts. The jury featured professionals from companies such as KoRo, Jack Wolfskin, RECUP, GREENFORCE, Kickerkult, heycater!, and many more, alongside members of industry associations, ensuring a fair and thorough assessment to identify excellence across all categories.
