By Daniela Lyon - Artificial intelligence wants to change the world. And we might as well see it happen a lot faster than we think.

From Dall-E to Midjourney, passing through Stable Diffusion, 2022 has left great advances in the field of what is known as artificial intelligence, programs capable of interpreting an order expressed in natural language and producing an image -or even a video, starting from them, imitating specific styles and imagining the different elements present in the scene coherently.

All this seems incredible, but we couldn’t imagine the enormous leap that artificial intelligence would take by the end of 2022

Today, it is already possible to have existential conversations with machines that almost pass for human beings; it’s even possible to use an AI to help you publish a book; I know ... unbelievable.

That is precisely what happens with ChatGPT, a widget that has been gaining great popularity recently and is available to anyone who wants to use it.

Here we are going to explain what ChatGPT is and what you can do with it, a chat system with artificial intelligence that is surprising us all. It's one of the most capable AI systems we've tested in recent times, capable of responding to anything you ask of it.

What is the ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a chat system based on the GPT-3 Artificial Intelligence language model developed by the OpenAI company.

It’s a model with more than 175 million parameters, with large amounts of text to perform language-related tasks, from translation to text generation.

Artificial intelligence is trained based on text, questions are asked, and information is added so that this system - based on corrections over time - is constantly "training" to perform the tasks for which it has been designed automatically.

Remember that, following what we have explained, ChatGPT is not an AI in the strict sense of the word but rather a machine learning experiment that could - in the future - evolve into a pure real AI.

In the case of ChatGPT, this AI has been trained to hold conversations with anyone. Its algorithms may be able to understand what you are asking precisely, including adjectives and variations you add to your sentences, and coherently respond to you, which is truly amazing.

The most surprising thing about this specific AI chat is that it is capable of giving you very accurate and complete answers, even for several paragraphs.

Also, in these answers, the chat can express in a natural way and with very exact information, which makes it very difficult to distinguish that the text has been generated by AI.

Just imagine that you are a student. You can ask the chat for a 1000-word essay on a specific topic, and the AI will generate it for you before you have had time to open Google to search for the first concept, life-changing.

But hey, like any AI model, it is possible to make mistakes, so if it's an end-of-year project, you should do it yourself.

This AI is so powerful and capable of generating complete and informed responses that some say it could take down Google and similar search engines. However, in many topics, it’s imprecise, especially in names and some concepts. For example, ChatGPT doesn’t allow you to copy what it has written and paste it, although we believe this is going to happen very soon.

How does the ChatGPT work?

As we already know, GPT3 is a natural language model capable of executing multiple tasks related to text generation, such as creating texts, completing them, translating them, answering questions, classifying concepts or executing conversations, and much more.

In the case of ChatGPT, this last function has been selected to optimize it and create a much more efficient conversational model. In other words, ChatGPT inherits the response-ability of GPT3, bringing new features such as the ability to admit errors in its formulations, question incorrect premises, and reject inappropriate requests.

To achieve this new level of ChatGPT, this model has been trained through reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF). AI human trainers provided conversations and were also able to include suggestions to help the tool compose its responses. So, the conversations carried out are compared with each other, classifying the answers from best to worst.

Five things ChatGPT could forever change in e-commerce

In the e-commerce world, chatbots are transforming the experience for users, especially for customer support, and ChatGPT will not be left behind.

Since they are built with AI and driven by a predefined set of rules, they learn and adapt themselves to complex business problems and offer quick solutions to client inquiries, yes, just as humans would. The benefits of using chatbots for your e-commerce business are way too many, but let’s focus on 5.

Customer support improvement

Most clients expect businesses to be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. So hey, this is not a problem with ChatGPT, and now the chat will be able to help even more customers than before. You probably have a customer service team that can be very expensive; with chatbots, you can eliminate or decrease that cost and still ensure your customers are taken care of.

Maximum personalization

ChatGPT can also be used to collect data about your clients and visitors, so this can also result in better product suggestions and recommendations. Considering your customer inquiries, their needs, and preferences can allow you to personalize EVERYTHING! From product pages to email campaigns, and also build customer loyalty and affinity.

Reduced costs

As we told you before, thanks to ChatGPT you can reduce costs from the customer service side; this will allow you to drive your focus on more critical aspects of your e-commerce site.

Time-Saving

Using AI-powered chatbots like ChatGPT will help you in saving unnecessary time that is wasted in initial inquiries from customers. It helps save time for the company and also for the customer; with quick and right replies, the customers won’t wait for days to receive answers.

Increase customer happiness

And last but not least, ChatGPT delivers fast answers, always replies politely and helpfully, and can take their time to answer as many questions as necessary. What kind of customer wouldn't like it?

How can you experiment with ChatGPT?

You can start having your conversations with this artificial intelligence today, and it is very simple.

How you can do it? Easy! Enter on the official website, which is https://chat.openai.com. The first time you enter, you will have to create an account on the OpenAI website but don’t worry; everything is completely free, including the chat.

Once you log in, you will enter the chat, and at the bottom, you will have the bar where you write what you want. Before starting, you will see some examples in of things you can ask.

When using it, we recommend you experiment with different types of requests to explore all the features of the AI, we are sure that you will be amazed.

The only thing you have to do is remember that everything you write will be recorded and can be reviewed later by the OpenIA developers; this is helpful to developers to continue training ChatGPT. Therefore, be careful what you ask.

All this sounds too amazing, but for now, it is entirely experimental. Regardless, ChatGPT will definitely mark a path where computer-aided generation of new content will become a common practice.
