TikTok's Black Friday: a challenge to Amazon!

TikTok's Black Friday program has been announced. The brand keeps pushing to dominate social media e-commerce and this sale is a direct challenge to Amazon. The social network is planning to launch discounts of up to 50% starting next November, according to Bloomberg News. The ByteDance-owned company's goal is to entice sellers to participate in its Black Friday program, which will begin on October 27 and run through November 30.

Also, according to Bloomberg News "TikTok is also offering these discounts to lure inflation-hit shoppers to its new online marketplace, taking the lead in a price war with established competitors such as Amazon and Walmart."

Boosting TikTok Shop

This strategy is part of the company's plans to boost TikTok Shop, its shopping platform that was officially launched last week in the United States, a market where the social network has 150 million users. "TikTok Shop will now bring shoppable videos and live streams directly to For You feeds across the country, and give brands, sellers, and creators the tools to sell directly through shoppable content on the TikTok app," the company said.

TikTok's commitment to e-commerce has been consolidated in recent years. Now, TikTok Shop will compete with Amazon in its goal of reaching 20 billion dollars (about 18,648 million euros) in sales by 2023. The social network's goal is to take advantage of the application's potential to connect people according to their specific interests.

Amazon jumps ahead with Prime Big Deal Days

The event is called 'Prime Big Deal Days', and will be held on October 10 and 11; it will be two days, just like Prime Day. In fact, for all intents and purposes, it will be an extremely similar event to Prime Day, only Amazon has decided not to repeat the name again this year. The deals will start at midnight on October 9-10 and will run through October 11 for 48 hours.

The deals will be centered around some of the most recognizable brands in the world like Samsung, Windows, Sonny, and other tech titans. Keep in mind that Prime’s Big Deal Days will only be available if you have an active Prime subscription.
